The neurotoxicity of 2-hexanone is potentiated by aliphatic monoketones.
Use of alcoholic beverages enhances the harmful effect.
MBK potentiates the toxicity of some other chemical substances like chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, ethanol.
Depending on the degree of exposure, periodic medical examination is indicated.
